Bartlett, New Hampshire was named after Dr. Josiah Bartlett, an original signatory of The Declaration of Independence. Bartlett was incorporated in 1790 and consists of Intervale on the east, Bartlett village to the west, and Glen in the center. Bartlett is set in the White Mountains and surrounded by the White Mountain National Forest. Bartlett, geographically, is the largest area of the Mt. Washington Valley. Bartlett's spectacular views of the White Mountains has long made tourism a principal business. The major river flowing through Bartlett, the Saco, has been a place tourists have visited for centuries.
